# API overview

> Integrate with the Ignite Partner API.

The Ignite Partner API lets approved integrations call operations for Ignite companies. Requests use a partner API key and a company ID that the key is allowed to access.

The API reference lists available operations. The `GET /v1/companies/{companyId}/hello` operation lets you verify your key and connection.

## Get started

1. [Make your first request](/quickstart) with a sandbox key and an allowed company ID.
2. Review [authentication and access](/authentication) before handling keys in your application.
3. Use [errors and rate limits](/errors-and-limits) when a request fails.
